After considering a number of construction firms in the greater Durango area, we engaged Jon Tuthill Construction to take our newly acquired home and renovate it from top to bottom. Jon provided excellent advice in our initial meetings, and he brought an array of experts that provided excellent architectural and engineering advice. As we requested, we were provided a solid plan with creative flexibility. Once we had a design in place, Jon managed the effort with an array of truly talented craftsman. The interior projects ranged from a new, stunning kitchen; new slate, tile, hardwood, and carpeted floors throughout; beautiful hardwood staircases, ponderosa beams, custom cabinets; wood and gas stoves; and a truly spectacular stone fireplace. Jon’s team delivered exterior work including road grading and asphalt, rock work, stone patios, a beautiful entry, and painting. Jon’s efforts ensured the completed had the look of original construction. Jon delivered strong and effective project management, craftsman, care, and excellent advice at every juncture of the project. As a result, we built our dream home on-time, within our budget, with a quality level and appearance that went well beyond our expectation. Oftentimes the people of La Plata county question: are there any reliable construction contractors in the area? We wish to attest that yes, Durango, there is one. We had a house constructed for us when we live 4,000 miles from Durango. We had met Mr. Tuthill of Jon Tuthill Construction, Inc., once while visiting the area. In 2003, we built a home in Trappers Crossing while still living in Wichita,
KS. We asked Jon Tuthill to build it for us. He built a beautiful custom
home which was completed in less than a year and because we were still living
in Wichita, much of the communication was done by phone or e-mails. John did
a great job and was very professional. When the house was finished there
were no issues, any questions that arose were promptly responded to. We later sold that home and purchased another in town. Before moving in, we had Jon do extensive remodeling to the house. Once again he did a super job and completed the project on time. We would highly recommend Jon Tuthill as a builder.
